Plain, Washington Real Estate

One of the first things folks often want to know about the town of Plain in Chelan County is why it’s called thus. Plain is called Plain because the early settlers who were Dunkards and belonged to the Church of the Brethren asked the post office to give their town a plain name. Clearly, someone in the post office at that time had taken the request too literally, but the name stuck and this unincorporated community has been known as such ever since.

There is, however, nothing at all plain about Plain, Washington real estate. On the banks of the Wenatchee River, surrounded by the expansive Wenatchee National Forest and overlooked by the rugged peaks of the Cascade Mountain range, the views you’ll get from Plain, Washington real estate are anything but plain.
Located less than half an hour north of the Bavarian-styled village of Leavenworth, Plain lies around a little over half an hour northwest of the city of Wenatchee and is less than 15 minutes away from Lake Wenatchee and the state park of the same name that you’ll find there. Plain, Washington real estate is set in a warm, rural community that’s dominated by rich farmlands and features more than a few resorts.

Whether you’re investing in a vacation home or plan to live here permanently, you’re sure to enjoy all the fun activities that Plain has to offer. From rafting and fishing to hiking, skiing and snowmobiling, there’s year-round fun to be had in this scenic, tranquil and far from plain community.
